It feels strange doing wintry drawing in the middle of summer. This is Snegurochka, a character from Russian folklore. She is the child of Winter and Spring, and is given to childless human parents who look after her until she falls in love, and melts. Cheerful stuff. I wonder if she inspired Carol Anne Duffy’s the duke of fire and the duchess of ice?

her eyes and how they stare is very icy. nice colour combination!
She’s great! I love the blues and I think she suits the story very well!
Thanks for the comments. I didn’t mean her to come out looking quite so icy, but in the end I was quite pleased – I think we probably need more fairytale women/girls who have a bit less passive “fuck-me” in their faces, and a bit more active “don’t-fuck-with-me” instead…
As for the story, there are more detailed versions online which are worth reading.
ooh i like her stare. pretty colours too.
She looks beautiful, I love the icy stare.
The story looks interesting, I’m gonna look for it
