Latitude festival

I have just come back from 4 days of music, mud, pies and cider here. It was lovely. I drew on wallpaper in a session with Simone Lia and Karrie Fransman. I laughed hard at Tim Minchin and Doc Brown. I listened to too much beautiful music to list, and I had my heart blown open by Bon Iver‘s set.

Because I am still sleepy and happy and consequently ridiculously soft and sentimental, here is this. It is on the cusp of being a guilty pleasure, but still a joy.

monoprinting

Today I taught a drawing session where we did continuous line drawings and then mono-prints. Everything was pretty fast and loose, but I rather like this one anyway. I’d like another 3 hours playing about with printing ink; there’s something so satisfying about its texture.

illustration friday: refresh

Being an Englishwoman, I don’t think there is anything more refreshing than a decent cup of tea.

Playing around with pattern, Photoshop, and strong warm happy colours, and enjoying all three. I can’t get enough of rusty reds and burnt oranges at the moment. They’re cosy and vibrant all at once.

Where Am I?
