monogram

August 13, 2012 § Leave a comment

Paper-cut monogram for two dear friends who got married on Saturday. I enjoyed playing around with their initials to find a fluid combination, and I especially enjoyed sitting peacefully and working on something that wasn’t related to moving house, writing essays, or reading academic textbooks!

The border is heavily influenced by the beautiful illustrations of Catherine Campbell, and by the appliqued wreaths on Baltimore album quilts (examples here and here).
