xmas banner

Term has finished, and with it my 6:15 morning alarm. A day of luxurious laziness then: cabled jumpers, fat socks, quiet music, scrambled eggs, slow walks and low-key festivity. My dad went out this afternoon and came back with a basket full of pilfered greenery. Glossy holly, sprigs of yew, a wee bit of mistletoe. I’ve spent the last hour or so pottering about the kitchen, sticking bits of the aforementioned green stuff into bits of the kitchen with an aperture large enough to stick a bit of green stuff into. Loveliness.

Have a good one, anyhow. And listen to this.

Inky inspiration

Hello folks!

I am alive! I still exist! I am even making bits of art, though this is crammed in the gaps between theory and learning and lesson-planning and working out how to teach in a way that helps other people to make bits of art as well, and I don’t have photos at the moment. Maybe there will be some soon. I’ve been especially enjoying air-drying clay.

Anyway, just needed to say that Pen&Ink is a wonderful thing. Go over and have a browse.

Giant cardboard diving helmet made by me and 4 friends for an installation workshop. The idea was to create a peaceful headspace, and the inside of the helmet is painted black and scented with essential oils. In real life, it would hang from the ceiling at head height in an empty room. Even in not-real life, it is quite a marvellous thing.
